Regu
A research assistant that quotes the rule instead of paraphrasing it from memory.
What it is
Fund regulation in Brazil is spread over hundreds of acts that cite each other. Regu answers in Portuguese from the texts themselves, and every claim in an answer points to the passage it came from. It is not legal advice, and it says so.
How it works
- Retrieval
- Each question is rewritten three ways and searched over the full text of the rules. An act number in the question pulls that act in directly, and the articles it cites come along.
- Citations
- The answer may use only the retrieved passages, and must cite one for every claim.
- Old rules
- Repealed rules and self-regulation are let in, in limited numbers, and marked as historical.
- Updates
- A new database is built whole and has to pass four checks before it replaces the one being served.
- Measured
- On its own set of 58 test questions, it finds the right rule for all 58 when the question uses the rule’s wording, and for 139 of 174 rephrasings in everyday language.
What is true today
It is not open to the public. The texts it answers from were collected on 3 September 2026.
